Bill Church and The Bradley Cemetary
Bill Church was a noted Native American historian. Through his extensive research into the native peoples of Michigan and the many treaties with the United States, Bill was instrumental in helping several unrecognized Michigan Tribes, including La Vieux Desert, Gun Lake, Burt Lake, Little River, Little Travers, and Huron Potawatomi reach official recognized status with the US, leading to significant economic and cultural benefits. Without Bill’s efforts, these tribes may never have received the rights due them under US law. Bill passed away several months after the filming of this production.
