Basket Weaving
Jim and Jenny Brown are expert basket weavers, preserving the style and traditions of the Gun Lake Anishnaabe Tribe. Made from the bark of the local Black Ash trees, in the time honored ways handed down for many generations. True masters of their craft, Jim & Jenny’s baskets are works of art, featured in many notable venues, including the Smithsonian Institute and the White House. Thank you so much for sharing your stories and talent with our NACOS group of students and faculty. It was such a special honor to learn from you and even working with you to create a special NACOS basket.
